PANEN — Parametric Adaptation for Nusantara Farmers

UK FCDO Frontier Tech Hub × DT Global × Results for Development (R4D) · FIRST Fund for Adaptation Finance — Cohort 2 Virtual Pitch

A 15-minute virtual pitch to the FCDO FIRST Fund Cohort 2 panel: an Islamic parametric takaful data-enabler platform for climate-exposed Muslim rice smallholders in Indonesia. Concept note submitted 9 August 2026; shortlisted 19 August 2026; pitch delivered week commencing 24 August 2026. HAMPARAN acts as data engine and governance orchestrator; licensed takaful providers underwrite. Six-month grant (September 2026 — February 2027) moves the venture from Prototype to Product-Ready, Conceptual to Tested, and Exploration to Traction — positioning for a Rp 5—15 billion Series A live risk pool in Season 2027.

Substitutes, Not Complements: Digital Adoption and Formal Financing in Indonesian Micro-Small Manufacturing

Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) × OJK Institute · KARISMA OJK Paper Award 2026 · Theme: MSMEs in the Digital Ecosystem to Accelerate Economies of Scale

A firm-level analysis of the digital-adoption × formal-financing interaction across 94,779 Indonesian micro-small manufacturing firms (BPS VIMK 2022 Semester 2 dissemination microdata). The empirical strategy combines OLS with KBLI × KLAS fixed effects, propensity-score matching, inverse probability weighting, and a doubly-robust estimator — all four converging on the finding that digital adoption (+62%) and formal financing (+71%) are partial substitutes rather than complements, with a joint effect of +114% versus the +177% log-additive counterfactual. The 63-percentage-point substitution gap challenges the universal-complementarity premise underlying Indonesian MSME programme design. Four concrete policy levers for OJK follow, including a reformulation of fintech P2P as an employment-stabilisation instrument.

Manuscript submitted to the KARISMA OJK 2026 Call for Paper on 21 June 2026 (400+ submissions, 8 papers selected for final round); acceptance decision to be announced 26 August 2026. These materials are staged in advance of the potential October 2026 presentation.

Differential ENSO Transmission to Strategic Food Prices in East Java

Bank Indonesia Jawa Timur × FEB Universitas Airlangga × ISEI Surabaya · 13th East Java Economic (EJAVEC) Forum 2026 · Sub-tema 2: Ketahanan Pangan Terintegrasi dan Stabilitas Harga

A regency-level panel analysis of ENSO transmission to strategic food prices in East Java, 2018Q1–2026Q2 (38 regencies and cities × 19 commodities × 34 quarters ≈ 24,000 observations from the SISKAPERBAPO daily archive). Panel two-way fixed-effects with Driscoll–Kraay standard errors identify five commodities with strong ENSO sensitivity (garlic β = +26.85, refined white sugar β = +10.98, standard packaged cooking oil, local soybean, imported soybean) against a null tier of nine weak-sensitivity commodities. The lag distribution maps cleanly to supply-chain biology across four channels (direct production, feed-cost cascade, sugarcane cycle, import parity). The paper derives three operational principles — differential rather than uniform protection, lag-aware procurement, and quarterly ONI-anchored monitoring — that the East Java Tim Pengendalian Inflasi Daerah can implement without new information infrastructure.

Manuscript submitted to the EJAVEC Forum on 27 July 2026 (Reg No. PU-0288); acceptance decision to be announced 21 September 2026. These materials are staged in advance of the final oral session at FEB Universitas Airlangga on 14 October 2026.

Going Upmarket: PLS Adoption and MSME Retreat in Indonesian Islamic Banking

Bank Indonesia · JIMF · 12th International Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance Conference (IIMEFC) 2026 · Sub-theme 1: Inclusive Growth

A quarterly bank-panel test of whether the two most-discussed trends in Indonesian Islamic banking — the 13.7 pp rise in profit-and-loss-sharing akad share and the 2.3 pp decline in MSME financing share over 2021–2025 — reflect a structural trade-off. Using all 13 Bank Umum Syariah across 20 quarters (242 bank-quarter observations from the OJK Condensed Financial Statements micro-database), the paper shows the surface correlation dissolves once bank and time fixed effects are partialled out (β = +0.037, p = 0.635). We extend the Stiglitz–Weiss information-asymmetry frame to Islamic akad selection: independence is the predicted equilibrium, not a puzzle. Closing the dual gap requires a five-lever γ-reduction agenda targeting the information infrastructure of MSME revenue verification.

Manuscript submitted to IIMEFC 2026 on 3 August 2026; acceptance decision to be announced by the Scientific Committee. These materials are staged in advance of that announcement.

Data Infrastructure & Institutional Intelligence: A Reproducible Research Strategy for Indonesian Food Security

Politeknik Negeri Jember · AGRIEXSHO 2026 Talk Show Session · International Seminar on Food Security & Sustainable Food Systems · Jember, Indonesia

Talk show session in three acts. First, research as proof: four HAMPARAN Institute papers built on the same data infrastructure (MBG producer prices, MBG multi-commodity ITS, GFC transmission to Indonesian banks, halal-signal extraction from 90k reviews). Second, business through HAMPARAN Business Intelligence (HBI): a hypothetical case on a mid-scale Indonesian agribusiness with land, mill, and farmer-partner pillars. Third, ecosystem through HAMPARAN Corporate Intelligence (HCI): a collective corporate-intelligence foundation Indonesia does not yet have.

Global Financial Cycle Transmission to Indonesian Commercial Bank Balance Sheets

Bank Indonesia Institute · The 20th BMEB International Conference & Call for Papers · Hilton Bali Resort, Nusa Dua

Bank-level panel evidence 2002–2025 documenting an asymmetric macroprudential effectiveness: the post-2016 Indonesian framework contains the downside of the global cycle (as the 2022–23 Fed hike episode confirms) but not the upside. Post-2016 sensitivity is ~4× the pre-2014 magnitude.
