HAMPARAN was founded on a single observation: the most important intelligence is the kind that doesn't exist yet. The data is out there — in regulatory databases, court systems, government registries, price monitors — but no one had systematically extracted, structured, and made it usable for Indonesian decision making.
So we built the infrastructure to do it. HAMPARAN builds proprietary databases from Indonesian primary sources and turns them into research output and SaaS products — across five pillars: compliance, food, banking, energy, and macro intelligence.
Our team combines expertise in due diligence and compliance analytics, agribusiness and food economics, regional macroeconomics, and data engineering — a combination that lets us understand both what Indonesian institutions need and how to technically deliver it.

We access regulatory databases, court systems, government registries, and official monitors directly. No intermediaries. No aggregators. Raw data from the source.
Structuring & Normalization
Unstructured data — HTML tables, PDF disclosures, court records — is parsed, normalized, and loaded into structured databases for systematic analysis.
Augmented Analysis
Software and language models augment human analysis — extracting entities, classifying risk signals, summarizing complex documents, and identifying patterns across large primary-source datasets.
Intelligence Output
Findings are delivered as structured research, interactive terminals on terminal.hamparaninstitute.com, or API-accessible databases — formatted for compliance teams, investors, and policy analysts.

The research arm. Produces original analysis across five pillars — food & agricultural economics, risk & compliance, energy & mineral, finance & banking, and macro & regional — built from Indonesian regulator and government sources. Output is published as peer-reviewed papers and presented at academic and central-bank forums.
HAMPARAN Business Intelligence
The commercial arm. Builds data infrastructure, business intelligence, and operations research for mid-size Indonesian companies in trading, logistics, and manufacturing. Client engagements are kept separate from the Institute’s public research: a client is never a subject of published work.
